(#5304642) Re: Edward Lear

Hi volvath I did stipulate that the clerihew has to be about a poet. Is Chad a poet? Also I said it had to be a poet who is no longer alive, and I am happy to say that Chad is still alive.

Also, as Jools said your poem does not fit the rhyme scheme of a clerihew

Sorry, but please feel free to try again. You can still receive a poetry token for your poem, as all poems posted to the board win a token. Best to post it in a separate message though so it doesn't get lost.

I am guessing that the poem is just the first three lines and the final two lines are just asking if it's okay for the competition?

So your poem would be:

Chad was here
The creator of what is here
None would be here

Did you mean to say something like, if it wasn't for Chad none of us would be here? You could add a bit saying something like

Chad was here
The creator of what is here
Without him
None would be here

But for it to be a clerihew the first two lines would have to rhyme with each other, and the third and fourth lines would have to rhyme with each other.
