, hosted by
Dragon Jr, is an amiable gathering of word-type people trying to solve word puzzles together.
Dragon Jr designs puzzles and many of the variety puzzles that he creates have been published. He also makes up all the clues that are posted on the board for you to solve. In addition, you may also post clues on the board that you may be struggling with in crosswords to see if anyone can help. Quite a few players are in for the fun and so the question is:
Are you up for it? Get your thinking caps

on and see if you are! There are some really great puzzles there to tease your brain.
A good nickname is like a calling card. It says who you are and quickly sets you apart from other people with the same name. How did you pick the one you use on GoldToken? It's such fun to hear the stories behind the reason players pick out their GoldToken name. Check it out so we can read about yours!!
Don't forget this fun board hosted by
PattyMac, with players making up stories, poems, songs, etc from goldies. With all the newest

When it’s not mistaken for an owl, the Tawny Frogmouth can easily be confused with a tree branch! With narrowed eyelids and a stretched neck, this bark-coloured bird is a master of camouflage.
Tawny Frogmouths are between 34cm (females) and 53cm (males) long and can weigh up to 680g. Their plumage is mottled grey, white, black and rufous – the feather patterns help them mimic dead tree branches.
Their feathers are soft, like those of owls, allowing for stealthy, silent flight. They have stocky heads with big yellow eyes. Stiff bristles surround their beak; these ‘whiskers’ may help detect the movement of flying insects, and/or protect their faces from the bites or stings of distressed prey (this is not known for certain).
Their beak is large and wide, hence the name frogmouth.
Their genus name, Podargus, is from the Greek work for gout. Why? Unlike owls they don't have curved talons on their feet; in fact, their feet are small, and they’re said to walk like a gout-ridden man! Their species name, strigoides, means owl-like.
They’re nocturnal and carnivorous, but Tawny Frogmouths aren't owls – they’re more closely related to Nightjars.
There are two other species of frogmouth in Australia – the Papuan Frogmouth (Podargus papuensis) lives in the Cape York Peninsula, and the Marbled Frogmouth (P. ocellatus) is found in two well-separated races: one in tropical rainforests in northern Cape York and the other in subtropical forests of southern Queensland and north-eastern New South Wales.
Tawny Frogmouths are found throughout Australia, on the mainland and Tasmania. They prefer open woodlands, but are found in a wide variety of habitats – rainforest margins, alpine woodlands, parks and gardens. They’re seldom found in arid regions or in dense rainforests.
A breeding pair often stays in the same territory for more than 10 years. Common where they occur, chances are you’ve picnicked under a tree concealing a Tawny Frogmouth or two!
Tawny Frogmouths sleep during the day. At dusk they shake their disguise and begin their nocturnal hunt. They catch prey in flight, or by sitting motionless in a tree and then swooping down on ground-dwelling prey.
Tawny Frogmouths eat insects and centipedes, worms, spiders, snails and slugs. Sometimes they eat larger prey like frogs, reptiles and small birds and mammals. It’s thought that most of their water requirements are obtained from their prey, rainfall and dew.
Tawny Frogmouths mate for life and in the wild they can live up to 14 years. Females typically lay two to three eggs each breeding season (around August to December). The nest is made of sticks and rests on a horizontal tree branch.
At night the breeding pair take turns incubating the eggs, but the father normally takes the day shift.
After the chicks have hatched, the whole family can be seen roosting on the same branch, side-by-side.
Their call is a low booming "Oom-oom-oom-oom" noise. When threatened they may hiss loudly and strike a defensive pose that makes them appear larger than life – eyes and beak wide open. But for Tawny Frogmouths, disguise is the best form of defence!
Being nocturnal, the species is vulnerable to vehicle collision – they're known to fly after headlight-illuminated insects.

We had a tie this month! October's winners are:
Blueberry Cream Pie
Coconut Graham Cracker Crust:
1 1/2 cups finely ground graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup shredded sweetened coconut
1/3 cup white sugar
6 tablespoons butter, melted
Filling:
Custard:
1 1/4 cups whole milk
2 large egg yolks, beaten
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Blueberries:
4 cups fresh blueberries (You can use frozen. Just thaw and drain off any juice.)
1 cup water
2/3 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Begin by making the custard as it will require some time to cool. In a small saucepan, cook milk, egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch over medium heat, whisking constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Stir in vanilla and butter. Transfer custard to a bowl, press plastic wrap onto the surface (to prevent a skin from forming on the custard) and refrigerate for about two hours.
For the crust, begin by preheating your oven to 375 degrees F. Then, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, coconut, sugar, and melted butter until combined. Press mixture evenly into an 8 or 9 inch pie plate. Bake for seven minutes. Allow the crust to cool.
In a medium saucepan, mix one cup of blueberries with sugar, cornstarch, and water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Cook two minutes to thicken while stirring. Stir in lemon juice and butter. Remove from heat and let cool. Gently stir in remaining three cups of blueberries.
Finally, spread the chilled custard into the bottom of the chilled coconut graham cracker crust. Top with the berry mixture and refrigerate until set. About three hours
AND:
Easy Chicken Pot Pie
1 deep dish and 1 regular pie crust
Chicken cooked and cut in chunks
1 can Veg All ( drained )
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 block cream cheese ( softened)
Thaw crust a bit
Stir cream cheese in soup then fold in vegetables and chicken.
Poke few holes in deep crust and pour in ingredients
Top with other pie crust, poke few holes and bake

We would like to say

to
karynsong for letting us step into their personal life for a bit.
1. What brought you to GoldToken, and how'd you choose your name for GT?
- My friend, restivo46, invited me. The first name I chose was already chosen, so I chose karynsong because I use it for a lot of things.
2. What interests you most on GT? Do you have a favorite game?

3. What state or country do you reside in? What do you think tourists should definitely see?
- I'm in Garden Grove, California. I'm about 10-15 minutes south of Knott's Berry Farm,

- I'm retired, but I used to work in a state office full time and had several part time jobs at the same time..singing with a band,

sign painting, doing hair in a salon
, arts & crafts
;; for boutiques, and chocolate candy.
I think that's all. Different days for different jobs. Four days at the office, the rest around that.

I got started because of my sister,
blackangus. I normally am a video game person, and have never been one for board type games, but my sister was very persuasive. After she passed I thought I could quit, but I still thought of all the people I played with and could not quit. I am a pretty quiet person and do not talk much, but I have grown to care about these people.

We have a winner for the Best New Game Design contest!

to
Lance, who submitted this idea:
My idea for a game is a variant of a variant. I think there should be a point version of Acey Deucey where instead of the round ending when a player goes out, you just keep going so one player can “lap” the other. Maybe even have a lap counter on screen.
This game idea utilizes graphics currently in use, so we'll be sending it over to our design team to see if it's possible to implement! It sounds like fun.
Lance, please be sure to write to
