New Contest Director!

lol, while our new director gets things set up.

Pending Tournament Changes

Seeking Gold or Platinum players to test a pending tournament change on GoldToken's beta site: http://beta.goldtoken.com/. Games with a maximum clock time will (soon on GoldToken) timeout when the player's clock has reached that time, with no extra time given for vacation days or anything else. The games no longer switch to no-vacation mode. There should be no other change, but Mecir had to alter several timeout-related functions, so there may be unintended changes somewhere. Now's your chance to have a say in this testing process.

Club Code Rebuild Added

Tomas added a huge club code update to rework our site club system. Most of the rebuilt code sits in the back ground, with no major visible changes. Good news for club owners though, as this will allow us to add innumerable cool club improvements!

Server Upgrade

The new OS is fully in place and working well. There were more than a few bugs in this along with the club code rebuild, but most have been dealt successfully with. It's the ugly, not so fun, process of important site improvements when we are unable to test. If you are experiencing issues, please post them on the Bug Reports DB.

Game Of The Month

November's game of the month is Mau Mau! Join us in a fun Double Elimination Tournament by signing up today for The Game of the Month - Nov 2017 - Mau Mau Tournament!

Mau Mau is part of the "Loco Ochos" set of games. The object of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand by playing a card that matches the suit or value of the card on top of the discard pile. Several cards have special attributes:

Aces: An Ace causes the next player to skip their turn.
Jacks: Upon playing a Jack, the player can choose the suits that must be played next, and the next player must play a card with the declared suits, or another Jack. This card can be played on top of any other card.
Sevens: A Seven forces the next player to draw two cards, unless the player also plays a Seven. The effect of multiple Sevens is not cumulative.
Sixes: Sixes reverse the playing order in which players take their turn. So, upon playing a Six, the player that played immediately before gets to play next. This has no effect on two-player games.

Best Recipe Contest

October's winner is: Quick and Easy Peach Cobbler

Submitted by ladyvic

Ingredients
1 cup of self-rising flour
1 cup of water
1 cup of sugar
1 stick of butter
1 can of sliced peaches

Directions
Melt butter in dish
Mix flour, water and sugar.
Pour in dish
Dump Peaches + juice on top of mixture
Sprinkle with little cinnamon and sugar ( optional )
Bake about 30-45 mins. on 425* until top gets browned.

Note
I like mine thin so I use a long casserole dish but if you like it thick, use a 9x9 but watch it so it don't run over or put a pan under it. I like to pour a little milk or cream on it before eating while it's hot.

Don't stir after you put peaches in, I spoon mine in so they'll be evenly distributed then pour remaining syrup around. If you use the large baking dish, it's better to use a large can of peaches.

We would like to say

to thebodywall for letting us step into his personal life for a bit.

1. What brought you to GoldToken?

I was looking round the internet for some games to play and just stumbled across GT. The games here suited what I like to play as I'm not much into those role playing games other youngsters play.

How'd you choose your name for GT?

My morphed GT name comes from my old GT name of thebodywall. It would be the name I give myself if I was to ever become a WWE wrestler and the name I give my created wrestler on the WWE video game. Now I am theeyewall to go with my creepy new eye icon.

2.Favorite game here?

My favourite game here is pipes as it seems to be the game here that I have mastered the most, invite me if you dare

3. What state or country do you reside in?

I live in Adelaide which is in South Australia which is in Australia. It's a decent size city at 1 million and has a beautiful long coastline for those hot summer days. Kookaburra who plays here at GT is also from here

4. What hobbies do you have?

Besides GT my hobbies including checking out the fascinating things in museums and the creativeness on display in art galleries

5. Children? Grandchildren?

No children or grandchild, maybe in the future we'll see.

6. Do you work? What kind of work do/did you do?

I used to work in a Microbiology Lab testing if food was safe to eat, now currently between jobs and searching

7. Any pets?

We've had pets in the past since childhood I've always remembered having pet dogs and cats but since the passing of our last dog a couple years back it's been quiet here

8. Are you under 30?___ 30 to 50? ___ or over 50?
Male or Female?

I was 21 when I joined and now 33 and I'm a bloke who goes by the name James.

9. What's the farthest you've been from home?

The farthest I've been from home is the city of Brisbane in Australia. I'm yet to travel overseas but have a strong desire to do so, hopefully next year embark on a holiday throughout Europe and looking for recommendation send me a message.

10. If you could be anywhere right now where would that be?

If I could be anywhere in the world right now I would love to be secluded in the wilderness being one with nature

11. Favorite season?

I like summer the best as I prefer the hot weather over the cold

12, Favorite movie?

I'm a huge movie and music fan. In regards to movies I like to be taken on adventures, thrilled and scared, with my all time faves being Terminator 2, Back to the Future Trilogy, The Saw franchise and Shaun of the Dead

Actor?

The actor I enjoy watching the most is Arnold Schwarzenegger

Actress?

Nicole Kidman

Song?

As for music I have attended over 300 concerts/gigs/festivals and have seen just as many different bands perform live. My favourites would have to be System of a Down, Korn, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Offspring, Linkin Park, Eminem and an Aussie band called The Butterfly Effect. The song that has had the most influence on my life is Coolio's - Gangsters Paradise as this was the song that commenced my love for music from beyond just what my Dad liked.

13. If you could meet anyone (living and dead) in the world. Who would it be?

I've had the privilege of meeting some of my favourite musicians so to meet more in the future would be awesome.

A CHESSARAMA EVENT - From Knight Jarlynn

Tournaments from the first Original Dice Chess Club with no other games contained. We are a specialty club for Dice chess with no other games. Our games are Dice chess and 10x10 Dice Chess only. We are the first club to do this for the open arena and the Game site on Gold Token.
A Silver membership is required to join and stay in our club. We are The World Chess Dice Club Fedration Club with invites open to joining our specialty club. More events are being created for future fun.

Contrary to it’s name, The POPULAR GAMES CLUB doesn’t just play what’s most popular, owner ladyvic tells us, “We play every game GT hast to offer, Regular and Multi-player games. I have occasional "Play to Win" Goldero Games to make it fun. Also we have Wikiless Tournaments every month. We have Special Knock-out & Leagues Tournaments by johnnyyboy. He comes up with some very fun games!”

ladyvic was given the club by a friend in 2013. One of the things that make it unique, she says is that “ I always make a "Game in Your Name" for new members when they join the Club as a Thank You for joining. I try to pick a game they've played a lot and like and ask them to join in but they don't have to if they don't want.”

ladyvic is going to stick with a winning formula, “Right now, The POPULAR GAMES CLUB has 125 members and growing. I love running the Club with the help of my wonderful staff.” And she must be doing something right, because ladyvic was recently voted 2017 Club Owner of The Year. She confirmed, “It's always a pleasure to see people enjoying the games and tournaments and getting to know each other.
