It may not appear that much is currently happening here at GoldToken, but that is a false perception.
Mecir has been very busy rendering a complete site overhaul, vamping up our database and ridding ourselves of the old WebTV code that has hindered us for years. This is a huge undertaking that we anticipate will take a year to complete. Meanwhile, we will beef up various features that you know and love.

I keep winning games, but my rating doesn't change much. Why?
The amount by which the ratings score is adjusted depends primarily on the difference between your rating (at the time the match ends) and that of your opponent. There is a chart here [
Ratings in Practice ] which gives you an idea of how big the adjustment will be. Another factor that can affect the size of the adjustment is the experience score if you have a provisional rating. Someone who has only played a small number of games will get a bigger adjustment, so that a rating score that accurately represents their ability level can be arrived at more quickly.
Try to not put too much significance on the individual adjustments made after each game, and start thinking about the overall aim of the system, which is to try to ensure that each player's rating score, relative to everyone else, is a reasonable approximation of their ability in the game.

Zucchini Cake
Zucchini Cake (a lot lighter in texture than bread)
Ingredients
3 Eggs, beaten
1 C. Vegetable Oil
2 C. Sugar
2 tsp. Vanilla
2 C. Flour
3 tsp. Cinnamon
2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Salt
½ tsp. Baking Powder
2 C. Zucchini, coarsely ground (always taste the raw zucchini before adding it to the batter - it should be sweet
or mild not bitter. If it is bitter, do not add to the batter)
Directions
Combine eggs, oil, sugar and vanilla. Mix well. Combine dry ingredients and add to oil mixture, mixing well. Stir in grated zucchini. Pour batter into greased and floured 10” Bundt pan. Bake at 350 for 55 – 60 minutes. Allow to cool for 20 minutes before removing from pan.
No mixer needed, just a whisk. I have also used a 9 X 13 pan and lessened the time. This is really tasty; lots of cinnamon flavor.

The
Kitties Korner & Doggie Daycare Club was the very first one I ever joined on GT, guessing correctly that I would find fellow pet lovers who were friendly. Owner
furryfeet is a gruff marshmallow with a great sense of humor. He started the club back in June of 2009 after being a co-owner for another club for awhile. A good friend
marlisam, who no longer plays here, helped me start this cat/dog club and we wanted to keep an animal theme.” He said that the club really hasn’t changed much over the years and what makes the club unique is “For this particular club, having a place for animal lovers, be it cats, dogs, birds, fish, etc., is a place to meet and talk about our pets.” That also means a lot in certain moments, “I would say the special times are when one of our kennel members loses a loved pet and the rest of us are there to share their sorrow. We all know the heartache.”
Though the club plays “most all games”, “we only play site run tournaments and usually take requests from our members of what they'd like to play.” And the monthly tourneys, I can attest, always have silly names.
For the future, the plans are “Just to keep doing what we've been doing.” And he invites new members, “If you want to talk about your critters, this is the place. pm me a request to join and I'll get back to you asap.” It can’t be easier than that.
