Site tips and helpful tools

Starting A New Game

Just follow these easy steps to start a new game:

1. Click on new game at the top of your gamesheet (just below The GoldToken.com)
2. Scroll down the list of game types (on the left side of screen in red) to find the game you would like to play. They are there alphabetically! But beware some games such as Mau Mau and Switch card games are found with Loco Ochos and variants.
3. Click on the game, how many players, which player you want to be, days of move, penalty for timeout, check the anyone can read messages box (if desired), time to complete all moves (if desired), time limit increase after each move (if desired), and Rate the game or not, then click the next button
4. Click name of opponent (or leave blank for an open invite), then choose whether is will be a multi-game match or not, then click the next button
5. Now you verify the players, if you wish a certain membership level and if it is for a specific club. Then in the Message box you can place your message (Club name and challenge if need be or your message to opponent along with Good luck)
6. Click finish (your invite should be on your game sheet, waiting for opponent to approve)

Game Of The Month

Best Recipe Contest

July's winner is: Grilled Sliced Potatoes

• Submitted by younicorn

You will Need:

4 medium size potatoes
Aluminum Foil
Butter
Garil salt
Onion Salt
Any other spice you might like

I most times will cook potaotes in microwave oven first 
Rip and nice size of foil and I also line foil with extra foil
Cut potatoes in thin slices and place on foil
Add pats of butter and spices to taste
Roll ends of foil inward to seal potaotes in foil
Place on grill on low to meduim heat untill butter mealted and potaoes soft 

Open foil and enjoy

We would like to say to Gypsy for letting us step into her personal life for a bit.


What brought you to GoldToken?

I started playing on GoldToken because my best friend and her sister play here - LyndiLoo and Mystic Dreamer.

How'd you choose your name for GT?

My family and friends have always called me a gypsy since I was in high school because I seem to be always on the road going somewhere out of town.

What interests you most on GT?
Favorite game here?

My favorite game is Acey Deucey but I also enjoy playing dice pipes, Mau Mau, Loco Ochos and Dice Dots.

What State or Country do you reside in?
What in your State or Country do you think tourists should definitely see?

I live in California and there are so many beautiful places in California people should see. The California coastline is beautiful, The magnificent Redwood Forrest on the northern California coast is a must see. A place I haven’t been but really want to go see is Yosemite National Park. The Golden Gate Bridge and new Bay Bridge are also must see.

What hobbies do you have?

I love to make jewelry using rocks that I’ve picked up off the beach and tumbled. I also use other gemstones and crystals.

Children? Grandchildren?

I have 2 kids my son is 30 and my daughter is 28. My son has 3 girls and they are the apple of my eyes.

Do you work?
What kind of work do/did you do?

I am a RN and I work full time. So at times it can be a challenge to get my moves done if I am working extra shifts.

Any pets?

This is the first time in my life that I do not have a pet. I currently work 4 hours from my home and stay in a studio apt when I am away from the house. Therefore at this time I cannot have a pet. I am really looking forward to the day I can retire and then get a small dog .

Are you under 30?___ 30 to 50? ___ or over 50?

I am 57 and a female.

What's the farthest've you been from home?

The farthest I have been away from my home was when I took my kids on vacation to Maui.

If you could be anywhere right now where would that be?

I would be in Florida but only if I could convince my son and his family to go with me. I love the gulf sea and Florida is so beautiful.

Favorite season?

I love the spring all the beautiful flowers that are blooming. The weather isn’t too cold or hot in the spring.

Favorite movie?

I really don’t watch many movies and I never turn my TV on unless someone else in the house turns it on. So I don’t know that I have a favorite movie or actor, actress.

One of my favorite songs is He is my son by Mark Schultz and I also love to listen to Chris Isaak songs.

Best Nugget

August's contest is for the Best Nugget submitted throughout the month. All entries will be ranked by the and voting mechanism, and the winner will be announced in next month's newsletter. Winner will receive two extra months on their current membership, or, if Guest, a two month Silver membership! Nuggest must be submitted no later than Wednesday, June 30, 2015.

Nuggets articles give all the players an opportunity to write various tutorials, strategy guides, and other materials related to playing each of our many games, as well as general information about out various site features. Once approved, the new Nugget article will be added to the appropriate category for all the players to see.

Searching and sorting functionality is also available, allowing you to easily find what you are looking for.

Guest and Wood level players can submit one Nugget per month. Players with a Silver membership or higher can submit as many articles as they like.

When submitting articles, please be sure to only submit content that you have written yourself, or that you have a permission from its author to post here. Citations and links are obviously fine, as long as they do not lead to inappropriate content.
