June 2023 - June 2024 Contest Winner (unknown photo) (unknown photo) Spring Double Token GiveawayIn April & May, we going to give you 2, yes 2, tokens for each poll used during those 2 months. The best part... You get to choose which ones you want, they just can't be ones you already have. The rules are pretty standard, same as always. It can't have been done before, and you need to supply not just the question but several answers. We reserve the right to revamp the question and add/take away answers. Other than that, submit those polls to the Pollmaster and make it soon before someone submits your idea first. . (#5594200) Re: Solar Eclipse
Posted by fatdaddy on 10 Apr 2024 at 12:39AM I was quite happy to see it. I yelled "I see the corona!" I couldn't find the monopod for my 20X80 binoculars so I chose the binoculars over the camera on the tripod. I saw nice glass solar filters for $140 each but I opted for the $7.50 4X4 square poly solar filters. I glued them to peanut can lids that I removed most of the centers of with a knife. They fit the binoculars well. I got to see the slow progression of the eclipse then looked with my naked eyes after the thin crescent vanished. I broke the tripod mount but it seems to have taken well to the epoxy and two dots of super glue.
