Happy Anniversary!

Today, GoldToken is 17 years old! Happy anniversary to all you players who are here to celebrate this wonderful anniversary with us!

New Senet Variants

Two new Senet variants are now available - Ftoou Senet and Ftoou Bell's Senet! The games play similarly to the base games, the difference is that these are 4-player variants. Have fun!

Multi-Round Games

We have added support for playing all our games in multi-round mode - that is, you play the game normally, and when it finishes (be it a regular win, a draw, or anything else), the winner gets a point and the game continues anew. The game ends when someone collects the agreed-upon number of points (two or more).

Help Wanted!

As you may have noticed, our most recent GoldToken updates are taking place behind the scene. Our goal over the next year is to modernize GoldToken to match the recent trends,
mostly when it comes to better interactivity, better support for instant notifications and messaging, and more.

The existing infrastructure of GoldToken is, unfortunately, proving to be inadequate for the tasks we want to add, ie better discussion boards, flow of game play etc. Partial improvements can be, and have been, considered and implemented, but on the whole, bigger changes are necessary to make the new features reasonably possible. We ask that you please be patient during this process. It is a big undertaking, and undeniably leads to a few of our favorite pet projects being put on the backburner...for now. Not indefinitely.

To coincide with the above, we are seeking a handful of players with constructively great ideas for an improved GoldToken. Send me a note today if this fits you to a T!

New Tournament Director

After 8 long dedicated years, our incredibly talented Jacob1987 is retiring from office. He will still be a huge part of GoldToken, but no longer handling those much loved Club Matches. Please be sure to let Jacob know how much we treasured the hundred thousand hours he spent in organizing matches and tournaments here! You rock Jacob1987! In Jacob's place, Giant Gila Monster is learning the ropes, not to take over the club matches, but to augment them along with T-Rex. Send him a great

Those images are called Name Icons. Thanks to the amazing works of team Mecir and firefly, GoldToken.com has this cool and unique feature for it's players! Depending on your membership level, whether or not you have won a contest, deserve special merit, are one of our Olympic game athletes or a Federation/Association member - We have a name icon for you!

Check out the Name Icons Info page to see what icons are available for your particular membership level, then go to the Icon Mania discussion board and post a message requesting the one that suits you!

PINEAPPLE PIES-(EASY)
(Makes 2-pies)
1-(20 oz) can crushed pineapples, + juice
1- large box vanilla instant pudding mix
1-(8 oz) tub Cool Whip
1-(8 oz) container sour cream
2-graham pie crusts

In a large mixing bowl,
combine the pineapples & pudding mix until soupy.
Add sour the cream.
Fold in Cool Whip thoroughly.
Evenly divide mixture into the pie crusts.
Refrigerate until sets up.
ENJOY!

My friend MartyC told me about GT, and I never left. My friend Molly gave me my name. i tried to lighten my hair and turned red, so she gave me the name.

Favorite game here?

I like all the different games you can pick and all the friendly people here. My favorite game is Triple Shake.

What in your state or country do you think tourists should definitely see?

Ohio. We have the Rock Hall, and the Football Hall of Fame. Everyone loves Cedar Point or Kings Island

Best New Game Design

October's contest is for the Best New Game Design submitted throughout the month.

You can include your own graphics, opt to use graphics already available on GoldToken, or if chosen as the winning entry, possibly have your graphics designed by our professional graphic artists. All entries will be reviewed for playability, and judged by GoldToken's Graphic Arts team. The winning game will be announced in November's newsletter.

The contest winner will receive two extra months on their current membership, or, if Guest, a two month Silver membership, and see their new game added to GoldToken's venue of games (as long as it is feasible to code), sometime during this next year.

Entries must be entirely new games or variants not seen anywhere else, and be submitted to GoldToken Support no later than November 2, 2016.

The CHRISTIAN/JEWISH ALLIANCE Club will has started a new verse-by-verse study of the Bible book of Hebrews in September. The study will explore the connection between the Old and New Testaments, the Messianic prophecies and the life of Jesus, and the faith of the Jewish patriarchs and contemporary Christians, both Jewish and Gentile. When I first joined GT, I kept seeing banners advertising clubs and one of the most amusing was called The Pork Chop Club. I finally learned the story behind the name and met the man responsible-porkpie1. He explains how the name was chosen, back in 2003. “Well, I had to find a name for my profile and that name came from a U.K. TV Comedy series called “Desmonds”. One of the characters was called Porkpie. Once I had my name, the next way of thinking was what would go with Porkpie? It clicked with Pork Chops, lol and so the name was used.”

Since the club has been around so long, I wondered if anything had changed in that time. “Yes, its grown stronger and with a variety of different style game (i.e. games made by our officers) or GT style games where no wikis need editing and then there is our Club v Club games which are well supported by our members. We also do prize tourneys, these are fun.” I asked about the kinds of games and he said “The club has a good mixture of games. We generally see what games members like and try and accommodate by using these games the most. The Backgammon games and my favorite Senet games seem to be popular.”

He reflected on what he thinks makes the club unique, ”The members, they are the best and have supported me throughout and I thank every one of them. Without them, there would be no The Pork Chop Club.” And he hopes it continues, “Future plans are to keep the club interesting, fun and keep its family feel that the club brings.”
He spoke of his dedicated club officers, “The friendship of the members and also the support I get from my partners and officers. The fun games we run. It’s a big thank you to my two partners who help guide the club from strength to strength and they are Pepper and eliphont551, these two special people have helped make the club a lovely place to be. But I really have to say also that the officers of the club yes I want to name them heyred72, Callie , hoot. STUSTU, BrnIdGirl and partygirl are the best and I love them all--it’s a bit cheesy, but I like cheesy. Lol”
He ended by recalling a special moment, “In 2015 we won Club of the year and in the same year, I won Club Owner of the Year. It touched my heart and made me feel warm inside.”
