Astonished by the denial and ignorance in people's responses. Ben Franklin knew that humans were affecting the climate more than 200 years ago when his testing showed that air temperature was higher in cities than the countryside. What do you think that the Industrial Revolution has done since then? Do people really think all of the pollution and chemicals has had no effect on the planet?
I think part of people's denial is because they don't want to do anything about it.If they pretend that it isn't happening, they they won't have to change their behavior or make an effort to improve. It's selfishness and greediness and will be the destruction of humanity and a lot of other creatures too.
There is a massive amount of science that shows what we are doing to the planet and how it is affecting weather patterns, wildfires & floods and food production. We ignore this at our own peril.
In the Bible, God tells us to be "stewards of the earth". Wine stewards & ship's stewards take care of their assignment(wine or the ship), doing everything they can to make sure it's safe and no harm comes to it. That is what we are commanded to do with the Earth. So whether from a Biblical or scientific standpoint, we are supposed to do better. A lot better.
