Nope, never saw South Pacific, but now I will know. Thanks for sharing!

Re: to Post New Comment, at the top it says to click on Reply to answer. But I don't think it really matters which way you answer, it's not like they're giving out tokens on this board or anything that you need to keep your answers in certain threads. But regardless of which way a person chooses to answer, you should leave a new set of letters for the next person to play on, otherwise the game stops. 😊

Oops! - I thought that was for another person to do by clicking on "Post a New Comment."

Re the poem, it is a song from the film South Pacific that I assumed everyone would know.

You should have left a new set of letters for the next person, but that was a cute poem. ☺

"Happy talkin', talkin', happy talk
Talk about things you'd like to do
You've got to have a dream
If you don't have a dream
How you gonna have a dream come true."

Why not popover to the zoo, where you can feed popovers to the Hippopotamus.

Wishing a Happy Christmas to all.

Personally, I agree with Jan and Ginny. I played on this board about 10 years ago and as long as I can remember, they always played the way we were playing. The next person would make words out of a set of letters that the last person left. Then when they were done, they would leave a new set of letters for the next person. The only difference was that instead of leaving one word, that person could leave as many words for that particular set of letters that they could think of...whether they knew one or 10 words. I think that if everyone is allowed to play on however many words they want, the play is going to end up being all over the board and it's going to get very confusing, and then some will forget to even leave new letters. That's my honest opinion. And as I said before, there isn't that many players on this board, it would be nice if there were more players. * I left a new set of letters in the subject line above to play on, if anybody wants? *

I like the way we've been playing. It seems that posts get lost when they are replies rather than new posts.

There isn't that many people that play on this board. At one time there were only three of us and we were waiting long in-between turns. I wish there were more people to play. However, any way you want to play that's fine with me, maybe take a vote and see what the majority would like to do? 😊

No,not happy, I agree with Heather N.
There are usually several possible correct words/answers available. It should not be limited to just one answer from a single reader.
See the competition rules at the top of the page where it shows:
Example:
Subject: UNCH
Some possible replies: Lunch, crunch, uncharted
(#5321347) Re: Always thought that we had to follow the previous ones

Okay, you are all obviously happy with that, so I won't interfere any more, despite the instructions saying otherwise.
(#5321342) Re: popo
Posted by HeatherN on 22 Dec 2021 at 7:57AM
Well, that's not what the instructions say, and it means only one person can give an example or examples with the letters. The instructions say "others" not the next person, and they also say, "reply to the post", which to me means click on "reply" so that the word you post relates to the actual post rather than having to type which post you are answering.

You can then start a new thread with your own letters for others to add to.

But you're all obviously happy with the way you're playing it, so I'll leave you to it!

Just a thought: the instructions at the top say to reply to the post with the words - to me that would make more sense; so that people can reply to the post and then go on to post another set of letters for others - then people could add to the ones below - whereas at the moment, the replies are not under the relevant sets of letters which, to me, is confusing Puzzled

Also, it would mean people could keep adding to previous sets of letters. I am sure that's how this board used to run, and definitely what the instructions at the top say!
