Have you tried changing it in the "Edit my account" from your profile page.
In "Edit my acct" go to Account and change it there. Then hit "Finish" at the bottom of that page.

If your on a desk top or laptop.... first make sure someone didn't post something on the gamesheet that is long//big
Also check and make sure the size of your page didn't change (press ctrl while turning the wheel on your mouse)

Go to your GAMESHEET
Select PREFERENCES (Listed under My Account in the big yellow box).
Select GAMESHEET
Under the heading CURRENT TIP, make sure the second box "Display the gamesheet in a single column" is NOT checked.

The last move was a time out made by { Player: pagaleeta }
Check the time stamps between the "last move" and the previous and you will find three elapsed days.
The last tiles played were by the Opponent in each case

In dominoes, there is a possibility of a lot of draws. In this you are limited to 3 which means you get to take note each one as you pick up.
(#5708047) Re: Picking up tiles in TrioTiles
Posted by jd91 on 28 Aug 2025 at 7:43AM
It just seems as if the dominoes way is better. I don't see the point of clicking pick up a tile 3 times when it could be done just once.
(#5707981) Re: Picking up tiles in TrioTiles
Posted by Jools on 28 Aug 2025 at 12:21AM
As there is a maximum of 3 pickups, it doesn't seem that necessary, you would however no if if the last tile picked was playable or not

Posted by jd91 on 27 Aug 2025 at 11:00AM
I'm not sure if this is the correct board to post this on, but I was just wondering why you have to pick up 1 TrioTile at a time when in Dominoes it just picks up the required amount of bones at once.

Surely TrioTiles would benefit from a Dominoes-style pick up function, does anyone else agree?

I don't care what you think I don't know you & I have never seen you even play Rummikub so why are you even getting involved in this discussion? You talk of positives & negatives but you are the type of person it seems to me that could have an argument with yourself in a telephone box.

That is reading a lot into a few words. I reread that post but don't see what you're saying and think you're making a big deal out of a molehill. Zig Ziglar once said that positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will.
(#5691231) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by shillotte on 5 Jun 2025 at 6:13PM
They basically called me thick in the meantime whilst doing so suggesting that the reason for wanting a new variant is that I am not capable of hoarding the tiles & playing that way if you don't understand that this is unacceptable then I feel sorry for you

(#5691136) Re: New rummikub variant

An option would be to limit how many tiles you can place in a single turn, not counting and taken from the board that must be replaced.
There wouldn't be any point hoarding tiles if you couldn't place them all in one turn
(#5691133) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by shillotte on 5 Jun 2025 at 11:29AM
Thank you for speaking up about it I have spoken with a number of people who agree but not all will speak up about it the point of me doing this is not to change the game itself but to get a new variant that will allow players like you & I to be able to play & enjoy it. not looking good at the moment it has to be said as they would rather criticise than help.

I have spoken to a number of people regarding this and they are up for another variant as I suggest but if the answer is no then they should just say no. not put up offensive comments about people not being able to play in this way which as I have already said is not constructive or helpful in any way.

Fair enough, not sure many people share your enthusiasm for such a variant. There are other variants I would like to see more
(#5691028) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by shillotte on 5 Jun 2025 at 2:13AM
You still don't get the point... I am asking for a NEW variant so that people who actually want to play can! Then those who want to bore people to death can bore one another til their hearts content. I am well aware of the rules & as I not stupid I understand them a pity they are ruining what could be a very good game in my opinion & yes I am entitled to my opinion!
(#5691027) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by Jools on 5 Jun 2025 at 2:12AM
Do people that use this tactic have a high game rating? That's an indication of whether it's an effective tactic
(#5691026) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by Jools on 5 Jun 2025 at 1:55AM
Unfortunately that's the rules of the game and a legitimate tactic.
It doesn't affect how I play my game however and I have just as much chance of winning as they do, probably more so in a points game
(#5691024) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by Jools on 5 Jun 2025 at 1:53AM
Exactly, hence it's not like rummy card games, which are more akin to American rummikub
(#5691023) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by shillotte on 5 Jun 2025 at 1:52AM
Really? they are basically saying that we can't compete with players who hold the tiles back! You can't get anymore offensive than that! It isn't that we can't it is that we don't want to... just pressing the draw a tile button over & over again is boring all I am asking for is a variant where people want to play they can. I pay good money every year to play on this site & criticising people for their opinion is not constructive or helpful in any way shape or form
(#5691021) Re: New rummikub variant

Rummikub has no discard pile
(#5690973) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by Jools on 4 Jun 2025 at 5:49PM
Actually gon rummy is more akin to American rummikub. All card based variants of rummy have a discard pile.
Rummikub at GT is almost identical to the commercially available game, with the exception of in that the initial meld can't be accompanied by other melds or altering melds already laid in 5hat turn. Perhaps that rule may help?

The French rummikub variant sounds interesting

I take offence to this statement it isn't because we can't play against it we don't WANT to play against it,,, I thought this page was called goldtoken help well obviously you don't want to help just criticise well that's ok I won't be renewing my membership when it comes up & I have been a member here for quite a number of years & play every day, if you don't like constructive criticism then don't call it a help page. And FYI in normal gin rummy you don't have to wait days or sometimes weeks for your opponent to play

(#5690783) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by Games Administrator on 3 Jun 2025 at 5:38PM
Just like you noted Whafflet, although annoying, how the game plays is how the very specific game rules are set up. It wouldn't be right if we changed the queen to move like a king in chess just because some people don't like how other people win with it. Rummikub is very much like gin rummy. It is an annoying part of the game for some people. We do offer several variants of the game, and may consider another. But we aren't going to make the game easy because someone can't play it against other players strategies.

but still not sure that "forcing" tiles to be played is quite the answer

Posted by Whafflet on 2 Jun 2025 at 6:21AM
Yea I should have done that with this game, game #14708252 might have saved time lol
(#5690563) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by shillotte on 2 Jun 2025 at 5:52AM
I will only go to 40 tiles with them & when they get to that I resign! The most I have ever had before being able to go is 35... Everyone is entitled to their opinion but in my mind they are not playing the game if they just keep drawing tiles & it is extremely boring to play against I thought the games were supposed to be fun?
(#5690561) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by Whafflet on 2 Jun 2025 at 5:48AM
Not if none have been put down by your opponent at all by the end of 0 tiles and yes I agree I've had a couple where it's got up to 32 before I could meld which is why I wait until 33. There has to be a cut off point where you have to change tactics though, for those who don't just incase, cos if you don't and they put down 3 and then 1 at a time, they've automatically won by default simply because you've already put down 9 or so tiles before you realize they're playing a different tactic to you.
(#5690560) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by Jools on 2 Jun 2025 at 5:42AM
I've had games where I've got to well over 30 tiles but still unable to meld, it's not a tactic just bad luck.
I personally don't think a variant where you are forced to place tiles would be a good thing, but I'm willing to try it out.
(#5690552) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by Whafflet on 2 Jun 2025 at 4:59AM
A discarded tile although annoying is part of the game, however, no other game has such a difference in game play. Not all players play the same style over and over, however if by 33 tiles none are put down, I start to change my style to suit theirs, but by the time that has happened some tiles are already put down by myself, which tends to give the opponent a slight advantage against if the tiles they need are already there in place.
(#5690542) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by Jools on 2 Jun 2025 at 4:32AM
Simple solution, if you don't like how some people play - don't play against them!
I don't see the issue with players gathering tiles, they risk lots of penalty points if they lose the round.
A more annoying feature of the game is seeing the tile you need on the discard pile but not being able to collect it.
(#5690539) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by littleblue on 2 Jun 2025 at 3:59AM
hi, I don't know if your proposal is the right one to "fix" the problem, but I agree that there are effectively two ways of playing the game today. And that is frustrating for a number of reasons. I think the issue with your proposal is how to make it a system requirement that you play your tiles - what if you can't make a move? and while I don't like the tactic of waiting till all tiles are drawn before you play any, I do sometimes like to draw tiles because I might be able to make a better move next time (place 4 tiles instead of 1, say). But interested in the conversation and yes a new variant might solve the problem.
(#5690535) Re: New rummikub variant
Posted by Whafflet on 2 Jun 2025 at 3:30AM
A variant where you have to play the tiles you are holding, I think is a great idea. That way players who want to play tile by tile and those who rather keep their tiles until end would have a choice. Plus it would help stop a lot of the games winning by default simply on the style in which they play. Smiling
(#5690531) New rummikub variant
Posted by shillotte on 2 Jun 2025 at 3:02AM
I wonder if this is the right discussion board for this but would it be possible to have a variant of Rummikub where you have to play your tiles? I am bored of those players who just continually draw tiles without playing and I know there are others who feel the same. I love the game but in my opinion it is being ruined by this tactic. What I was thinking was that if a player keeps a tile without playing deliberately or accidentally then the opponent gets 10 points on his score. I would like other peoples opinion on this & obviously would like to know if it is possible to do. I have also posted this on the platinum members board

On your game sheet in your options box, click the Manage my banners link. You have two banners listed there, it's the first one that's about to expire. Click the link that says "extend the duration of this banner". I think that is what you're asking for.
