Thanks for clarifying. That makes sense. Looks like I'm not in any "no days off" tournaments so all good!

Mine is even worse. We have 2 nackgammon and 2 backgammon games with 9 points. She has played only four moves in a month, every Sunday.

Hi,

I also have this problem. A man has only 12 games and plays every day, but does not move in our game, because this is the last move and he will lose.

Really childish!

Hello, I have a complaint about a member. Is there anyone I can report this to?

Sort of a cheat, changing vacation days to avoid time-outs twice a week.

You more than succeed. You don't need to attach that "disclaimer." Your English is superb.

Hi,
If you play a tournament “no days off” or “no vacation days”, then you can't have vacation days or days off.
When you play a tournament without these rules, you can take five vacation days (for example) and add these days to your days off, and in this way you will have a whole week where you won't play and you won't loose.
If there is a limit to complete all moves, like in the Olympics, all your days off and all your vacation days will be counted like they were normal days, and so if you take 40 vacation days in a 60 days game, you will have 20 days to complete the game.
I hope to have been helpful, forgive my language I'm italian and I try to do my best.
Bye

Hi all, I'm in a couple of bg tournaments and have a question about tournament timeout rules.

Do vacation days count towards the clock? The reason I'm asking is I'm planning on going on holiday for a week and will have no internet access. Will the time limit be extended by 7 days if I set vacation days for the full week? So in a 1 day tournament can you get back to it a week later and not time out? What if there is a limit to complete all moves? Do vacation days add to that time?

Thanks for your help!

Posted by Big Lie Small World on 24 Apr 2024 at 1:26AM
Is it actually a rule in Tabula that you have to use all dice if possible? It says that it is, but it's in the section that's copy/pasted from the backgammon rules, not in the 'differences from backgammon section', which is the only place that the three dice are mentioned.

I'm asking because if it is a rule, the game is not enforcing it, unless there is something else in the rules that I'm missing. Are we supposed to use the honor system for that one?

You go in reverse in this game. But you can't go both ways

Oh my gosh I get so confused in this game...I think you can actually go the wrong way - is that right....why would it let you do that

If you play for instance the 5 point "variant" it will count as 5 towards your experience, but only show as 1 win or loss.

So add 22x8 (8 since they are already counted once) for your 22 friendly 9-pointers, 2x4 for your 2 friendly 5-pointers and 10x2 for your 10 friendly 3-pointers:

114+82+176+8+20=400

  • I got the T rating before I got the F rating. I have had a T with a PF a while now.
  • I thought that the T-rated games had no effect on the F-rated games and vice versa. Was I mistaken about that?
    • If I was right I expected to need 400 of each type - T & F - before having a full rating in both.
    • I purposely copied the game stats to let one view how many of each I had after at last getting the F rating.

Oh, I see. Ratings are a way for each person to see what their ability level is vs anyone else. friendly, provisional, tournament doesn't matter mush to me. I don't worry about it.
(#5569270) Re: PF→F With Fewer Than 400 F-Rated Games ?

I thought that one gets a final rating in a chance-affected game only after 400 games of that rating type for that game or the equivalent.
I lack that many games; so why have I already gotten a final Friendly rating? Are some games valued as more than one?

I haven't played this game much, so it's possible I'm missing something, but I seem to have a glitched game. I've rolled a 5-4-2, but there is no way to move the 5. However, the game won't let me submit the move without using the 5.
