Game Of The Month

November's game of the month is Switch! Join us in a fun Double Elimination Tournament by signing up today for The Game of the Month - Nov 2019 - Swtich Tournament! Have fun

In this variant of Loco Ochos, if a player cannot play a card (matching suit or value) to the discard pile, the player must draw cards from the talon until a playable card is drawn. In addition, four of the cards have special functions:

  • Aces - Upon playing an Ace, the player can choose the suits that must be played next, and the next player must play a card with the declared suits, or another Ace. This card can be played on top of any other card.
  • Eights - An Eight causes the next player to skip their turn.
  • Jacks - Jacks reverse the playing order in which players take their turn. So, upon playing a Jack, the player that played immediately before gets to play next. This has no effect on two-player games.
  • Twos - A Two forces the next player to draw two cards, unless the player also plays a Two. The effect is cummulative: each Two played in a row increases by two the amount of cards that must be drawn. So if two players play a Two, the next player must draw four cards or play another Two, six cards must be drawn or another Two played if three players play a Two, and so on.

For more details, check out Rules of Switch. We hope you enjoy it!

Testimonial Of The Month
Brought to you by: *GoldToken* Players

I joined GoldToken back in 2002, when there were other similar sites that just didn't have the sense of community that GT has always maintained to this day. My friend was a huge games nut and she told me about this site, and long story short, I've really enjoyed my stay. While I've joined a few clubs, what I usually look forward to especially are the Olympics, as they add that extra competitive edge versus others from anywhere site-wide.

I think my absolute favorite kind of games are Shake games; even though there's some randomness, there's also a hidden depth of strategy, but nothing can beat that feel of rolling five dice of a kind!
