Nugget Comments Scoring Posted on 14 Sep at 2:47PM by hoot Scoring the Game Placing a tile gives the sum of its numbers Placing the first same-numbers tile gives 10 points, or 40 if it's a 0-0-0. No extra points are given if the first tile doesn't have matching numbers. Drawing a new tile reduces the score by 5 points each; another 10 points deduced if the player is unable to make a move after drawing three. 50 extra points if placing the sixth tile bordering a number. 40 extra points if placing a bridge - one side and the opposite point both touch an existing tile. This does not stack with the previous bonus. Points are also awarded at round end - see below Ending a Round A round ends when no player can place a tile and the pool is empty, or when one player runs out of tiles. The player with the lowest sum of tiles remaining is then awarded the excess points held by each other player. E.g. if A has 10 points held and B has 25, A gets 15 points (25 - 10). This is also true if the round ends because someone has no tiles left - then all the points held by others are awarded to the winning player. Then, the next round begins. |
