The Word O’Rama Club, Callie and myself would like to introduce the latest variant in the CrossDowns Suite of word games!

Word O’Rama Race-Around!

It’s a game that is both a race and a semi-Solitaire word game. We have been playing it over at Word O’Rama for several years as a “twist” to the regular Large CrossDowns Race. The goal in that game is simply to get to the center first. In this variant, you have to perform a quest before you shoot for the goal!

Both players have to move along a path and cover each of the six 5-diamond squares [ 5X Letter Square ] along the path, and then get to the center bullseye first, but with the most points! The beginning is the hard part because you only have 5 letters to start with. However, for every 5X Letter Square square that you cover, you gain an extra letter in your rack. By the time you cover them all, you have 11 tiles to work with!

There are little quirks and tricks to it that you’ll pick up as you go, one of which is to learn how to think backwards and upwards!

Join_us as our variant hits the big time!
