Privacy Policy
GoldToken has a firm commitment to maintain the privacy of each person who creates an account here. We have set up this privacy policy to inform you of that commitment. By visiting this Site, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

We will not divulge any of the information that you send to us to any third party, except as required to provide service to you, or compliance with the law and court orders, or protection of property or life, is at issue. This means, for example, that we will not sell your email address to a mailing list, but may provide your street address to a shipping company if we were ever to send you something. We do not require your street address with the exception of sending any prizes you have won.

We do require that each member of this site provide us with a valid email address. Since we have no other way to track the different players on this site, we use the email address. By requiring that it is valid, we can be relatively sure that we can contact you should we need to. Occasionally you may find you need to reverify your email address. This happens sometimes when a GoldToken Game Administration email doesn't reach you, to verify it is still a working email or to ensure that our system is working properly.

There are some areas of the site where comments that you submit to the site will be made publicly available. Please remember that the things you say there will be read by other people. In those areas of the site, we can make no guarantees of privacy. Also, to ensure the safety of players, GoldToken Support can read private messages as in the case of reported harassment or threats.

We make a sincere effort to safeguard the contents of our database, however, it may be possible that through a software bug or a misconfiguration, others are able to access our database without our consent. While this has never happened to date, should it ever occur, we will do our best to secure the database and fix the problem, even if that means that we must remove our site from the Internet for a time while we make the necessary changes.

GoldToken reserves the right to update or change this Policy at any time without advance notice. If there is a change in policy, the new policy will go into effect once it is posted. Your continued use of the Site following any changes to this Privacy Policy will be deemed to constitute your acceptance of such changes. Please check this page regularly for any changes.

GoldToken recognizes its responsibility for protecting the online privacy of your personal information. If you have questions or comments about our administration of your personal information, please contact us at GoldToken Support or goldtokenmanagement(at)goldtoken(dot)com, replacing the (at) and (dot) with the appropriate symbols.

Chumping

In addition to GoldToken's privacy policy, GoldToken has installed these security measures to allow you to effectively place another player on ignore; a feature aptly called Chumping:

If you are being bothered, or harassed by another player, you can remove all contact by placing said player on your Chump list. Simply go to their profile and click the Chump this player link on the left hand side.

Please note: Chumping is a two way street. By placing someone on ignore, you also place yourself on their ignore list. Here are the basics:
  • Being added to someone's chump list has exactly the same effects as chumping that person yourself (so you can't see their messages/invites/etc).
  • You can post messages in games against a chumped player, but the messages will not be seen by them and vise versa.
  • Players can not see any chumped player's profile/nugget/photo comments, blog, photos, profiles, vote on profiles, and so on and so forth.
  • If you wish to remove someone from your chump list, you must contact GoldToken Support with your explanation for allowing contact. Unchumping a player must be a two way street and also gain their approval.

Chumping someone is serious. Do not do so lightly. You may still be in the same clubs as your chumps, be matched against chumped players in tournaments, ladders and clubs, but will not see their posts or messages in games.

  • Wish to unchump someone? Simply write Goldtoken Support with your request and it will be taken care of. Thumbs up Sadly, if you were the one chumped, we will not be able to remove the block between you and the other player.

Privacy of Photos & Blogs

All photos and blogs have three options to effectively protect your privacy. When first uploaded, photos and blogs are automatically public.

  • To hide individual photos from anyone not on your chum list (semi private), or to make the photo entirely private, click one of these links under the image: make image semi-private or make image private. To make the image public again, click the make image public link. Anytime you post the image using the photo identifiers wiki link, it can still be viewed, but only where posted, and not in the photo album.
    • photo identifiers are printed out under the photo, which you can copy to your post: example: { Picture#2368 },
  • To hide individual blogs from anyone not on your chum list (semi private), or to make a single blog entry entirely private, click one of these links just under the individual blogs title: Private or Semi-Private. To make the blog public again, click the Public. link.

Cookies

In order to improve our site, GoldToken uses a single "cookie" to track your visit and to identify you to your account. A "cookie" is a small piece of information which a web server can store temporarily with your web browser. This is useful for having your browser remember some specific information which the web server can later retrieve, like noting who played a specific game move.

A cookie will be created when you login at our web page and will be destroyed when you logout, regardless of which computer you used to logout. If you do not have cookies turned on, you will not be able to make your game moves or post as yourself in the site forums.

    • GoldToken holds the privacy policy in the utmost regard, however, all players are responsible for their actions and behavior. Public misrepresentation from any player of their case, will then forfeit their rights to the privacy policy. If you have a right to tell all, so do we! GoldToken reserves the right to publicly defend it's rights and represent the company in the public eye with full details to it's entirety.
