Posted by Big Giant Head on 1 Feb 2024 at 12:58PM
I've been trying to expand my musical input so I went down a YouTube rabbithole and discovered The Dear Hunter, an American progressive rock band that have released eight albums in the last twenty years.

Light is taken from the album Act V: Hymns With The Devil In Confessional. The tracks on the album cover a variety of styles, with traditional AOR through to musical vibes appearing with some remarkable vocals weaving the story around the characters the band have developed over several albums.

Later in 1971 it was released on "Sittin In" by Loggins & Messina. I like this version best.

The album marked the exit of Patrick Moraz and the return of Rick Wakeman.
I got to see this tour at the (since razed) Richfield Coliseum in the round with Donovan Leitch as the opening act.

written by Ronnie Lane and Steve Marriot was a top hit single in 1967 for the Small Faces.
This is one of the first songs to utilize the flange effect. Flanging was accomplished by recording the song on two different tapes, playing them in tandem then manually retarding one slightly for that woosh sound. Flanging music later was accomplished by electronic means.
(#5555860) History of Modern - OMD
Posted by Big Giant Head on 27 Nov 2023 at 2:10AM
I didn't know they were still releasing albums to be honest. After a lot of UK success at the forefront of the synth revolution in the early eighties I thought they'd sat back on their laurels. But this is the title track from their eleventh studio album released in 2010.
