I was there in 1967. The King has another castle on that lake, too. Did you go to it, too. It also is beautiful.

Yes it is Neuschwanstein castle in Germany, Fussen.
went inside Hohenschwangau Castle. This is the castle Ludwic grew up in.

I was there in June of 1972. Don't think it had changed much since then or now.lol Have many pictures of the inside Crazy LouieII built the Neuschwanstein as a tribute to Richard Wagner the composer rumored his partner. It was said he drowned in the lake at the base of the castle.

He was not really crazy. it was the only way the government had to stop him spending money on the castle.
Yes he died 3 days after being announced insane. Not sure where. His doctor died with him.

When I was there the story was that the doctor and he went out in a row boat on the near by lake and were never seen again. They also said that perhaps it was planed and as you said to keep him from building any more castles....
