Springtime Cardinal
I was surprised to read that the average lifespan of a cardinal in the wild is only 2-3 years because they have difficulty living through the winter - which is why they are first to the bird feeders in the morning and the last in the evening. I bet this cardinal is glad spring has started. Taken March 2016.

Re: Springtime Cardinal
I love cardinals .. I had a mated pair visit my backyard in OKC every year .. They were a delight to watch and it always made me happy to see they had returned

@Dragons Ladye: Cool! When I started bird feeding there was one pair of cardinals that would come, but, in the few years since then, there are now several younger pairs that will come. I'm positive that my feeding has helped them get through the winter.

Re: Springtime Cardinal
I got this off the internet. I knew Cardinals had a great meaning so here it is:

The Cardinal:

a magnificent bird with a life span of up to 15 years. Said to symbolize hope, joy, health, rejuvenation and celebration. Especially to the ones who look beyond in search of their meaning. For those who choose to hold the Cardinal dear – you are a special type of person – rare, energetic, and always willing to care for those in need.

It also mentions on another site that when a Cardinal is around an Angel is near. So you are truly Blessed. If you do believe.
