Armor for Man and Horse with Völs-Colonna Arms
Steel. Cleveland Art Museum. Northern Italy, 16th Century.

I visited the Cleveland Art Museum for my birthday in July, 2013 and tried to take some decent pictures of items that caught my eye there. They were mid-way through their renovation and I really need to go back.

I thought it looked familiar! This is one of my favorite rooms at the museum, I even liked it when I was little & not so interested in the paintings. lol

@blackangus: The write-up I found said the combined weight of horse and human armor weighed 114 pounds

@Ambrosia: I bet the horses were a lot more rugged than what they show here.

@bookfox: Mine too! I was around 10 the first time I visited the Cleveland Art Museum and the Egyptian area and the armor room where the two things that stuck with me.
