@phil: Thank you! I guess they do look like coffee beans; they are, however, black oil sunflower seeds which is the best basic bird seed since so many types of birds love it (as do squirrels, raccoons, and deer). The shells are thin, so they're easy to crack, and they're meatier and have a higher oil content - making them more nutritious and calorie dense - than the standard striped sunflower seed.

YES!!!....And TY!..For the reply, here there are a couple of old deers who put white bread out, which is not a great idea I think, messy dirty encouraging rats, and giving wild birds a undeserved link to pests, that MIGHT prove to endanger them....

Yes, I've read that moldy bread can actually give birds a respiratory disease.
