19 Aug 2013 at 2:50PM Circular mosaic this time.
This took me about three weeks, off and on, to make.
22 Aug 2013 at 12:16PM My mosaics
This was just a roof tile! Not mine, this time, but Irene, my wife's. She's a Pisces, in other words, a fish!
19 Aug 2013 at 8:00PM Paintings
Not me, but my wife Irene. It's an 1865 house that we used to live in, in Wainstalls, Yorkshire, England. About 2 miles from Halifax, England.
19 Aug 2013 at 3:02PM My Mosaics
In the sale, in Cyprus, was this table, all in wood. So I mosaiced it into a "honeycomb"! As the tiles were square, I had to cut them into a six sided piece to look like a honeycombe.
19 Aug 2013 at 8:04PM Mosaic bird
Not a bird that you can see, it's just my mosaic bird. Something that is easy to do, for a change! 20 Sep 2013 at 3:22PM 4 pots
Actually, this is one pot, not four, but I have it as four, to show the four different plants. It took ages, because of the micro tiles on the top.
3 Apr 2014 at 4:36PM four trees on a pot
The four pots, really one pot with four different plants, are the same, only now planted out with a small olive tree.
6 Apr 2014 at 2:07PM Irene's four Cyprus fruits.
I will have some more, eventualy. Irene paints, I mosaic.
21 Oct 2014 at 1:37PM Seahorse
actual size 1/3 meter, or 13.5 feet. The head mosaic is in tiny 1 mm tiles.
21 Oct 2014 at 6:35PM Irene's first picture
Well, apart from a few pencil drawings, this is the first one.Done with Derwent Inktense, so it's pencil drawings that you can also use to water them.
25 Oct 2014 at 11:14AM March 2015, so a new project
Two lizards, which I did in ply - obviously not real! Because the board AND the ply are separate, you couldn't make say a table out of it. For that, you just draw the lizards, not carve them. Size 1/2 meter diameter, or 19.68 inches
15 Mar 2015 at 3:44PM A pot I made for my Cypriot friend
This time, I mosaiced the pot and used a dark grey, almost black grout.
24 Apr 2015 at 3:00PM Mosaic table
It was just a pine table, badly blistered in the sun, and I was going to just throw it away. Then I said "hey, it's just pine, why not restain the legs, and mosaic the rest. It's now all outside, but covered from the harsh sun.
21 May 2016 at 8:53AM New mosaic, 25th February, 2017. This isn't the usual tiles, most of it, including the sun, is in glass, the same as the large frame in black. I also put a wooden frame, also in black, around it. All told, it's 12 inches by 34 inches. The grey though is plastic, same size, but triangle. Actually, they are swizzle sticks, i.e. from some cocktails, from when my wife and I had a very good cruise to the Caribbean via Panama Canal when we visited Miami.
23 Feb 2017 at 4:38PM Mandarin Duck - Irene's
After about 6 sessions with our friend Gary, Irene couldn't draw a think had her very first painting, she is now 73, and at 11, she decided that she couldn't draw a thing. Gary, an expert painter, said that she will teach her in about six 2 hour sessions. He did, and here is her first, a Mandarin duck. OK, it's not truly hers, it was from a book, but that's not the point, it WAS her first!
