Summer is moving into fall and things are starting to cool down. The kids are back in school, the wonderful vibrant colors are coming out in the trees and the stores are all set up for Hallothanksmas . I am looking forward to Halloween at the end of the month because I love seeing all the fun costumes the kids (and some adults) come up with. Hope everyone has a wonderful month, stay warm.

Best Recipe Contest

September's winner is: Sweet and Sour Skillet Cabbage

• Submitted by Cheetah

Sweet and Sour Skillet Cabbage

One medium size Cabbage Head

Core cabbage head, cut in quarters and slice the quarters thinly ( not to thin )

to cook

In skillet ( I use cast Iron ) brown cubed bacon about 1/2 pound
Add the sliced Cabbage to the skillet and sprinkle with salt an pepper to your taste

Add
1/3 cup of water
1/4 cup of vinegar of your choice
1 tbsp of sugar


Cover and let simmer for about an hour. Toss after Cabbage has cooked down a little and in between cooking.
My Mothers recipe. I use it also when I have left over raw Cabbage and serve as a side dish.

We would like to say to pegaleeta for letting us step into their personal life for a bit.


1. What brought you to Goldtoken?

A friend told me about this site and I am addicted! The graphics on GT are far better then any other site I've played and the people here are much friendlier.

How'd you choose your name for GT?

My name is Peggy and a former co-worker nicknamed me pegaleeta.

2. What interests you most on GT?

I mostly play Grabble and variants as well as Crossdowns and variants. Currently, the latest newly added game Word-O-Rama Race Around is a favorite. I also enjoy Backgammon, Cromagnon Holdem, Hangman and Dice Salvo

3. What State or Country do you reside in?

I reside in the United States in Pennsylvania.

What in your State or Country do you think tourists should definitely see?

Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada
Although I don't reside in Canada, I've visited the falls many times. It is a short two hour drive from where I live. It is also known as the Horseshoe Falls because of its shape.

4. What hobbies do you have?

I love to . I belong to a fitness center and go swimming twice a week. During the summer you can find me at our state park enjoying miles and miles of beaches.
I also enjoy playing Texas Hold'em , scrapbooking and sewing. And naturally of course, I love to spend time with my family and grandchildren, especially outside in my backyard. I also enjoy relaxing in my sun room with family, friends, and good conversation while sipping on a martini!

5. Children?

I have two grown sons, Rob and Tommy , (living) and one son, Joey , (deceased) He was killed by a drunk driver.

Grandchildren?

2 grandchildren, Natalya, who is 4 years old, and Ivan, who is 3 years old.
They are sister and brother and I just love them so much!


6. Do you work?

I was in grocery and grocery mgmt. for 19 yrs and am currently in tool sales, electrical, hydraulic, air and hand tools. It's fast paced and I love it!

7. Any pets?

I have a Pug named Yogi. He is getting older now, 12 yrs old, and has trouble walking with his hind legs. I am currently considering a doggy for him.

8. Are you under 30?___ 30 to 50? __ or over 50?

Male or Female? 

N/A, a woman never tells

9. What's the farthest you've been from home?

Las Vegas, on vacation, and would go back to visit in a heartbeat!

10. If you could be anywhere right now where would that be?

Las Vegas

11. Favorite season?

My favorite season is Summer. Love the sun and warm weather!
If you asked me my least favorite season I would not hesitate to say Winter! We get horrible ice storms and snow storms. Where I live is one of the snowiest cities in the US. In 2014-2015 we received 110" of snow.

12. Favorite movie?

all time movie is "Legends of the Fall". Its about three brothers and their father and how they cope with love, death, the government and war.

13. Favorite song?

My favorite song is With or Without You by U2

14. Last book read?

The Scoop, by Fern Michaels

Contest of the Month

Best New Game Design

October's contest is the best New Game Design, submitted by PM to GoldToken Support, throughout the month. You can include your own graphics, opt to use graphics already available on GoldToken, or if chosen as the winning entry, possibly have your graphics designed by our professional graphic artists. All entries will be reviewed for playability and judged by GoldToken's Graphic Arts team.

There are a number steps involved in creating a new board game. A new game design can be a variation of a current game or entirely new, but it must be original, never submitted before, and not a game found anywhere else. Start with variations of games that you love, that you loved as a child etc. Work out what makes these games fun, what’s wrong with these games, what could be better. Look at all different kinds of games from many different genres. This is the funnest part of game design. We hope you enjoy planning your entry!


The winning game will be announced in November's newsletter. Winner will receive two extra months on their current membership, or, if Guest, a two month Silver membership, and see their new game added to GoldToken's venue of games (as long as it is feasible to code), sometime during this next year.
