It is amazing how fast this year has been flying by! Only three more months and it will be 2010! GoldToken has been especially busy during the month of September. Here is the latest: This month is especially sad as our beloved Tournament Director, joannamarie has become extremely busy and has no time to continue setting up GoldToken's tournaments and must step down. She has patiently set up site, club and HTH tournaments for over two years and we own her a great dept of gratitude! Please be sure to send her your thanks for all her hard work and continued support of our lovely game site. Setting up tournaments is very time consuming, and takes a lot of patience. I decided that it would be best if three players kept GoldToken tournaments going, instead of one player carrying the full load. So I am happy to announce these new additions to GoldToken's staff:
At the suggestion of several players, GoldToken has opened the account Pollmaster - a place to submit your poll requests to! All poll suggestions are welcome. Send as many as you desire! Remember, GoldToken is a family site. Clean poll suggestions only please. I am pleased to announce that the World Camelot Federation has hung their hat on GoldToken. If you would like more information about the federation, or about the game of Camelot, please write their president, MrWCF. A big  to GoldToken all WCF players! We are most excited to add you to our GoldToken family!The new Olympic teams have been set up and are currently selecting who will play what. If you have any questions or desire to play, please write to Peg, GoldToken's Olympic Committee President. On the main Tournaments screen, I have added a new entry, called Your active tournaments. This shows how many tournaments you are currently participating in, if any (it is not shown if you are not participating in any tournament at this time). During September, Mecir set up new ladder and tournament features that allow players to view what ladders or tournaments they are currently playing. Upon clicking on the Your active tournaments link on the Tournaments page, you will be able to see the list of all your currently active tournaments and ladders. On the screen that lists the site ladders, you can now also see the count of all ladders that you are participating in - both site and club ladders are included. You also have an option to see the listing of all your ladders. KUDOS to Mecir for setting up this highly requested feature! But that's not all! Mecir released a group of three new card games for your playing pleasures. These include Loco Ochos, Mau Mau and Switch, all belonging to the Shedder group of card games. In all of these games, the objective is to be the first to get rid of all the held cards. Be sure to send him your appreciation and thanks! I have been playing here over 8 years now, and my mother, Dream23 plays here also.I've met alot of wonderful people from here like Badger, Desert Rose, Karen Q, birddog, stormy rebel, BlueJeans and her husband NASCAR , PBarb and her husband, WizOz, three horses and his wife Nanna K, and probably a few more I can't think of at the moment.  I really love this site cause the people here are more than friends, I consider them family. jackgammonIn early 2004 I was playing backgammon at different places around the internet. I was frustrated by the lack of courtesy that existed. People rarely said hello or good luck and the sites had little control over cheaters and bullies. I found GoldToken to be a friendly place where I have made many friends from around the globe whom I play with on a daily basis. When people suffer losses as a result of bad rolls we say good game and when they suffer losses at home we pass around a sympathy card. After over 8,000 games I finally reached the top of the backgammon ladder ( which I have since relinquished ) and have enjoyed other games as well. Management is on the ball and is always improving things. Members are able to form clubs and run creative tourneys. When life is busy I play less and when things are slow I know my GoldToken family is always here. Let's play! theoldmasterI have been on this website for a couple of years now and I like it very much. I have always enjoyed playing chess ( since I was around eight years old ). LilSisAfter a very long hard fought battle lasting over 21 years (1988-2009), Linda passed, so she now is in heaven with all of her loved ones that passed before her.... (Knowing her dancing the jig-Getting Down) No more pain..... No more suffering.... She is at peace...... She was loved by many... online and real life.... Her family surrounded her when she took her last breath...At her request there will be know services or viewing and she will be cremated..... Hi all! I am sorry to have to do this but I wanted to let you all know that I am stepping down as the Tournament Director. Life has gotten very busy and I find that I don't have the time to give this position my full attention. I have had this post for almost two years now and have had some good times. I am going to miss making the HTH games as well as all the special games. Jacob1987 will be taking over the club games and T-Rex will be doing the Site Tourneys. Please make sure you welcome them!!!
