February saw the introduction of our Head to Head gaming system, starting with Checkers. It was a bit hairy at first, with a new messaging system in place for all games that we are still working on, but I am pleased with the initial results. Once everyone is happy with the final setup, we will start adding other games to the Head to Head system, though not all will be able to be added. A big thanks for this huge project goes to
who paid entirely out of their own pockets for the set up. GoldToken will continue to support turn based play for all our games, but a sweet advantage with our new system is the ability to take a game from head to head play, and convert it to a turn based game and back again when your best friend or opponent shows up to play. I have been a member here for the last 4 years. I have seen it grow so much!! I love the little icons!! My Mom,
got me hooked on the games here. She signed me up in a club to start with but I quit right off because the wiki scared me to death!! I played here for 3 years then I decided I could do this. Now I am in 5 clubs and wonder why I was scared to start with. I have met so many great friends. People here are always willing to help. I can honestly say I have never had anyone get rude with me over a game or make me feel uncomfortable playing here. I love the shake games they are my favorites. Keep up the great job GoldToken and thank you for a wonderful game site!!
I started playing games here at GoldToken in 2001 soon after my father passed away. I live half way across the US from my family and I found GoldToken to be a way to pass the time and not think about losing my father as much. Since then when I sit down at the PC to play games it is like taking me to another world. I get so involved that I don't think about what a stressful or tiring day I have had, I just think about how nice it is to talk with such wonderful people here and enjoy the games. My son and I keep in touch by playing games here and keeping each informed of what is going on with each other.
I also introduced my best friend to GoldToken and she moved several states away and I miss her terribly. As a way to keep in touch she and I try to play here at GoldToken every night at the same time and it seems as though she still lives next door to me. So what GoldToken means to me is that I have many friends, I never have to be lonely, I can take myself into a world of no stress and it also keeps my mind sharp. I love GoldToken and I will never be without it.
