Best Recipe Contest

This creamy and cheesy soup with broccoli florets will be a family favorite!

Ingredients
2 Tablespoons butter
1 small yellow onion , chopped
2 medium carrots , diced or thinly sliced
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 cups vegetable or chicken stock
1 cup whole milk
1 cup half and half
2 Tablespoons Ranch seasoning mix
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
2 to 3 cups frozen broccoli florets
1 cup shredded sharp or mild cheddar
salt and pepper to taste

The fun starts here: Pony Up!. We have a fun new game - write a short, funny paragraph making up the plot for a specified player's screen name. For this one we chose Pinksmoke. It was so much fun reading all the entries, and then we had Pinksmoke tell us exactly how she did get her screen name. ladyvic won 2 golderos. Be sure you have the Pony Up! discussion board ticked, because you never know when one of those fun game will be posted. Hope to see you there.

We would like to say to heyblue32 for letting us step into their personal life for a bit.



1. What brought you to GoldToken, and how'd you choose your name for GT?

• I was on another gaming site and someone recommended GT so I tried it. The name is related to one of my avocations, I umpire High School/College baseball and my jersey number is 32

2. What interests you most on GT? Do you have a favorite game?

• I enjoy most of the backgammon games, cribbage and grabble race. Favorite is backgammon.

3. What state or country do you reside in? What in your state or country do you think tourists should definitely see?

• Reside in Southern California, lots to see between the Getty, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Hearst Castle or wine tasting in one of the many vineyards.

4. What hobbies do you have?

• Hobbies would be officiating sports, I have done baseball and soccer for over 20 years, in addition enjoy basketball, volleyball & softball.
• It is a way to be part of sports and help provide kids/adults opportunity to enjoy their sport. No officials...no games.

5. Children? Grandchildren?

• Three girls, all college grads...the youngest will graduate in May.

6. Do you work? What kind of work do/did you do?

• Retired, was a Financial Analyst/Business Mgr in the aerospace industry.

7. Any pets?

• Love dogs, currently have two.

8. Are you under 30?___ 30 to 50? ___ or over 50? Male or Female?

• Male, over 50

9. What's the farthest you've been from home?

• Been to Europe a couple times for river cruise on the Rhine and the Seine.

10. If you could be anywhere right now, where would that be?

• Always enjoy Hawaii or Cabo San Lucas or Cancun

11. Favorite season?

• Southern California really does not have seasons, but enjoy the summers, nice for bike rides along the beach.

12. Favorite movie?

• That is tough, not a huge movie guy. I enjoyed Nightmare before Christmas, all the Harry Potters....read the books too.

13. Favorite TV show?

• TV show currently binging on the Harry Bosch series...read all the books.

14. If you could meet anyone (living or dead) in the world, who would it be?

• That is a tough one, Jesus Christ and have a nice discussion
