GoldToken's Monthly News

• In Celebration of GoldToken's Upcoming 20th Anniversary

January 1, 2020, marks GoldToken's 20th Anniversary! To celebrate, our news team will be running various contests site-wide during December. Winners of these contests will earn special Profile Tokens (limit one prize token of each type per player). Each team member has several different Tokens to award, so keep your eyes peeled all over the site! The player who accumulates the most of these special Tokens by December 31st will receive a one-year extension to their membership! In the case of a tie, an automated Rock Paper Scissors tournament (or tournaments) will be run to determine one final winner. and As always, thank you to our volunteers for donating their time to make this event possible!

Game Of The Month

December's game of the month is Thai Checkers! Join us in a fun Double Elimination Tournament by signing up today for The Game of the Month - Dec 2019 - Thai Checkers Tournament!

In this Checkers variant, players start with 8 pieces each. Unlike other forms of Checkers, Thai Checkers allows a 180-degree turn when a king is performing a multiple jump.

Best Recipe Contest

November's winner is: Stuffing


Ingredients
1 bag corn bread stuffing
1 med onion chopped
3 celery ribs chopped
2 cans artichoke hearts drained and cut into 4ths
2 cup turkey or chicken broth
8 ounces (or the amount you like)brie cheese cut into small pieces
Olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste

13x9 baking pan greased with olive oil
Preheat oven to 350°

Directions
In a large bowl place corn bread stuffing and HALF the broth. Gently mix together and set aside. In a frying pan preheat 3 tablespoons of olive oil and then saute` onions and celery until they start to wilt. Check stuffing...it should be moist but not watery. If dry add more broth as needed and allow bread to absorb broth. Add rest of ingredients to bowl and mix thoroughly. Place in oiled baking pan and cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 45 minutes remove foul and bake another 15.

It looks like the holidays are here with full force! Seems like 2019 is flying by really fast! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is forging ahead with Christmas plans and that blessings of family and loved ones will be yours this season. We would like to say to Renekins for letting us step into their personal life for a bit.



1. What brought you to GoldToken, and how'd you choose your name for GT?

• I was playing games on another site & one of the players that became a good friend told me I should check out GoldToken & play games with them there too. I did & things just progressed quickly. Made lots of new friends.
• I was given the name Reniekins by a friend I met just out of High School. It's been shortened through the years to Renekins.

2. What interests you most on GT? Do you have a favorite game?

• Hmmm, I originally started out just playing backgammon, I can't say I have a favorite game, I like quite a few, some more than others. I would say my LEAST favorite game would be CHESS ... but ONLY because I could NEVER get the hang of it. I've have many people try to teach me, it just doesn't "compute".

3. What state or country do you reside in? What do you think tourists should definitely see?

• Idaho, USA...my whole life. There are so many different things that are key tourist attractions in Idaho, especially if you aren't wanting the "big city/town" thing. I live close to the Dworshak Dam ... the Clearwater River, not far from the Snake River... there's always things to check out on the Nez Perce Reservation. Lots of camping, river excursions , fishing ...... of course, you "drive" to go or do anything though.

4. What hobbies do you have?

• I do a little crocheting, some card making/stamping... counted cross stitch, that type of stuff, mainly.

5. Children? Grandchildren?

• I have 2 grown daughters. Oldest has 4 children, 2 girls, 2 boys. Youngest is happy with fur babies... & lizards.

6. Do you work? what kind of work do/did you do?

• That is a loaded question. I don't work for pay. I call myself a HOUSE-ELF.... I have worked in the past. I did substitute school janitorial work for a while, worked in a Christian School as a helper/Monitor (teacher's aid), worked in a clothing store, helped my Dad in his Country grocery store, was a bus monitor on a school bus and a bus driver for a short time.

7. Any pets?

• Hubby & I have a spoiled cat named Miss Squirrel & a dog named Buddy who is a German Shepherd/Black Lab mix.

8. Are you under 30?___ 30 to 50? ___ or over 50? Male or Female?

• Over 50 and Female…

9. What's the farthest you've been from home?

• North- Ketchikan, Alaska. South- San Diego, CA. West- Pacific Ocean in CA & Seattle/Bremerton, WA. East- Denver, Colorado

10. If you could be anywhere right now, where would that be?

• I honestly don't know.

11. Favorite season?

• Either mid/late Spring or Fall

12. Favorite movie? Favorite TV show?

• I don't really have any.

13. If you could meet anyone (living or dead) in the world, who would it be?
