Monthly News by Badger

It was thrilling to see The American Checker Federation and GoldToken noted in the MSN and Yahoo news last month! But I was not suprized. Ever since Chad and Taylor came up with the concept that has made GoldToken what it is today, we were bound for greatness! And for years, Alan Millhone, the ACF president has been working on placing the American Checker Federation members out front in world competion. Only more wonderful things can come from this union!

If you are a Gold or Platinum member, be sure to check out what is happening in beta! Mecir  and firefly  have been working on several projects that need testing...and what better way to contribute to GoldToken than testing our latest suprizes! You can get the beta URL on the Gold Members board.

The 2007 Go As You Please National (GAYP) checker tournaments will be held in Las Vegas at the Plaza Hotel from
July 22 through 27. Check out http://usacheckers.com/index.php for more information on inexpensive hotel rates and the Arthur Niederhoffer" youth event with a $5000 top prize! I will personally be handing out cool GoldToken/ACF mugs to the players that show up for this event. Hope to see you there!

Club News & Announcements

If you love any of the gammon games, you will love The Gammon Addicts Club. We play only gammon games. We play all the different variants. We also have an addict of the day ( AOTD ). If you want to be included in that, you just sign up on the wiki, and then about once a month your name will be chosen and players will send you games. We have so many players signed up for AOTD that we are starting to pick 2 per day, Monday through Friday. We don't do it on the weekend because too many players take that time off. April Fools

April 1 is here, so be on the lookout for the usual April Fools' hijinks. A typical prankster, I love a good joke and have put together a collection of software pranks you can find by Googling to play on your co-workers and housemates. Be warned about prank backlash, however. While these jokes may cement your role as the office crack-up, they may also guarantee you won't be invited to your co-workers' off-site functions.

• Mouse Move - Fool your friends by configuring their mouse to move in random positions.
• Copy Cursor - Replicate the Windows mouse cursor all over your friends' screens.
• Avoid – My favorite: Make the Windows Start button run away and avoid your mouse clicks.
• ReplaceKeys - This little prank app lets you change what different keyboard keystrokes will do to the computer.

Testimonials Of The Month

When I first joined GoldToken, my mom ponygirl had to talk me into it because I had been to numerous other game sites and did not like the language or atmosphere. I am so glad I joined. I am a GoldToken Addict. It did not take me long at all to get a Platinum Membership. I just can't get enough of the games. I love the people and the fact that this is a family site. I have made many friends and joined many clubs. I think it's great that you all do the Cards for people who need get well wishes, people who have deaths in their family, etc. I know it means a lot to those people who receive the cards to know that people care about them.
