Which Dice to use?

When sending an invitation for Ludocrous, Ludoteym, and Ludodeux, you are presented with the option to play with 6-, 8-, or 10-sided dice.

The default setting is for the 6-sided dice. Most players just click through and play with the default.

However, if you look at the rules, you'll notice that it says: To bring a piece into play, the player has to throw the number 5 or the number 8 on one of the dice (obviously, number 8 can only be thrown if using the 8-sided or 10-sided dice).

The advantages of playing with the 8- or 10-sided are two-fold:

First, you likely decrease the length of time it takes to get out of the starting point by having two chances of getting going with each roll of each die. The 8-sided die offers a 1 in 4 chance for each roll and the 10-sided offers a 1 in 5 chance.

Second, the game speed is accelerated by the larger possible rolls. The 10-sided will offer the best chance of speeding the game play.

Just as an added 'nugget', know that when you roll a 0 on the 10-sided die, it is really a 10.
