havannah is a very fun game and a lot of techniques need to learn to win this game or to get your opponent/s... at 1st sight or by viewing the board, you will see that it's a simple game that easy to win to... but you will notice that you are wrong when you attempt to play it especially if your opponent is already a master at it... yup, it was a simple game but the truth is, it is as hard as a diamond... an abstract strategy board game... i am currently playing it at the other 2 game sites... 'coz i love to play it though i was always getting by my opponent/s... yup, ALWAYS... Blushing...

of course, to master it and learn all the strategies of it... it was invented by christian feeling in 1979, 1 of my opponents at the other game site and teaching me at the midst of playing...

if you wish to play for it, you will need to know 1st the rules... and here they are (compiled from christian feeling from his mindsports);

  • the game starts on an empty board... players move in turn to place one stone on an empty cell... white moves first... the second player is entitled to a swap or not by choice,

  • the game is won by the first player to complete a ring or a bridge or a fork... all of these are 'chains': closed connections of one color;

      • a ring is a chain around at least one cell empty
      • a bridge is a chain linking two corners
      • a fork is a chain linking three sides... corners do not belong to either side

if you want to know and learn the basic tactics and strategies of this game, here's the links;

so, good luck for trying it to play with other players here at goldtoken... Smiling

let me correct for saying that am ALWAYS getting by my opponents... sometimes, i did win, too... but to other players only whose still learning the strategies and techniques of this game... just 1 point ahead from them... and of course to newbie players... Grinning...

'coz if am not, i will get ashamed to my tutor, christian freeling (the inventor of this game), whose patiently teaching me in the midst of playing... and also to teacher pete, my 2nd opponent/player (but became my friend now), who taught me 1st with this game 'coz my 1st opponent/player is snob... and it started then why i like to learn this game and then love it... Smiling

kindly try it, promise, you will enjoy it, too... even though in 1st time of playing it...

so, Good luck
