For Liren's sake I hope he would.

Carlsen has dropped out of the chess world championship cycle and most likely will never play a WC match again.

Unbeatable, which one does your senses tell you will win?

10 games. If Liren ties or wins he defends his title. Otherwise no.

I think John Nunn has shown Fischer could've drawn

The famous 29...Bxh2 move in game 1 of the 1972 match.

That's probably Game 1 of their WC match in 1972 when Fischer took the h pawn in a drawn endgame.
Here Fischer played 29...Bxh2, not fearing 30 g3 blocking the bishop's escape.

(#5587997) the hemmed in BISHOP!
Posted by bobby b 71 on 17 Mar 2024 at 3:41PM
Not too long ago I played a mini simul. Two of the 10 were college kids! They were still rambling about the CLASSIC game against BORIS where Fischer let his BISHOP get hemmed in by three pawns. WELL? Did he, or didn't he? I asked my wife and she replied, "I cannot imagine Bobby Fischer giving anything away!" Well, I got my "answer!"

Well, not blocking completely but if you put a bishop opposite three squares you limit the knight's ability to move in a forward direction. A useful technique in N vs B endgames.

If two strong players are on opposite sides of the board, but a win is possible against an inexperienced player.

Yes two knights MUST be watched and the knight in itself is also to be watched! NONE the less, however, I don't love Knights! I LOVE the QUEENS!!

Dangerous piece. No blocking it in Chess.

The knight, working together and supporting each other they are almost invincible.

I will take the Knight. The trickiest piece in the game
